Comment Period Ends May 22, 2017 For Petition to Amend Arizona Supreme Court Rule 32

  • May 2, 2017

As posted here in January, the Goldwater Institute filed a petition asking the Arizona Supreme Court to amend its Rules 32(c) and (d) so as to split the functions of the State Bar of Arizona into two distinct subsets, a mandatory membership organization (“Mandatory Bar”) and a purely voluntary membership organization (“Voluntary Bar”). The amendment to the Court Rules would maintain the current mandatory membership requirement for all lawyers but (1) eliminate mandatory membership dues for non-regulatory functions and (2) allow voluntary contributions for all non-regulatory functions.

The public comment period ends Monday, May 22, 2017. You must register with the Arizona Supreme Court Rules Forum site before you are permitted to electronically file a Comment. To register, click on Register in the upper right hand corner of the Court Rules forum website.
